Hotel Department

Hotel Manager

  • Hotel manager supervise all other departments on board with the exception of deck and engine.
  • Duties include the implementation of various shipboard services and systems including budget management, schedules, inspections, training, communications, etc.
  • Insures that all departments maintain high standards.
  • Reports directly to the Vice President of Hotel Operations at the shore-side office.
  • Extensive previous hotel experience of no less than eight years as a hotel manager, a degree in hotel and restaurant management, and prior cruise ship experience.
  • Managerial experience needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality service is provided in all hotel departments, including Administration, Cruise Staff, Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Dining Room and Housekeeping.
  • Solid knowledge of all Hotel departments/ 8 years in F&B Department on a cruise vessel in addition to Management School with at least 5 years in Management Position / 8 years ship’s experience. Kitchen/Stores/Financial background.

Chief Purser

  • Supervises all aspects of accounting, auditing, revenue and money transactions. Usually manages the purser staff.
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager (if applicable) or Vice President of Hotel Operations at the shore side office.
  • Extensive previous hotel experience of no less than five years as hotel manager, a degree in hotel and restaurant management, and prior cruise ship experience.

Assistant Hotel Manager

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of various departments on board as directed by the Hotel Manager
  • Duties include training, liaison between hotel manager and crew, inspections, training, communications, etc.
  • Reports directly to the hotel manager.
  • Extensive previous hotel experience of no less than three years, a degree in hotel and restaurant management, and prior cruise ship experience is required.
  • Managerial experience required.

Hotel Controller

  • Supervises the auditing and accounting procedures of everything from cash flow to ship supplies and inventory as directed by the Hotel Manager.
  • Duties include training and managing accounting staff.
  • Reports directly to the hotel manager.
  • Previous hotel experience required and a degree in hotel and restaurant management is compulsory.
  • Degree in accounting, finance and business required.
  • Computer skills preferable.
  • Managerial experience required.

Program Coordinator

  • Designs and creates the daily programs listing all shipboard activities and information.
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager.
  • Strong computer background required including the following applications; desktop publishing required, word, graphic programs.
  • Hotel background required.

Senior Auditor

  • Auditing and accounting procedures of everything from cash flow to ship supplies and inventory as directed by the Hotel Controller.
  • Duties include training accounting staff.
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager.
  • Previous hotel experience preferable and a degree in hotel and restaurant management is preferable. Degree in accounting, finance and/or business required.
  • Computer skills preferable.

1st Purser

  • ┬áSupervises day-to-day operations of the pursers office/front desk as directed by the Hotel Manager
  • Duties include training, liaison between hotel manager passengers, training, communications, conduct of purser’s, etc.
  • Reports directly to the hotel manager.
  • Performs financial accounting functions, oversees Pursers.
  • Knowledgeable in ISM Regulations / Typing Skills / Computer Literate – WORD/EXCEL/MS OUTLOOK/Fidelio Cruise or Similar Ship System an Advantage.
  • Previous Experience as a First/Crew Purser onboard a passenger cruise ships.
  • Previous hotel experience preferable, a degree in hotel and restaurant management and prior cruise ship experience is required.
  • Managerial experience required.

Purser

  • Represent the company’s policies and procedures to the passengers, general information, accommodation change requests or problems, complaints, money transactions, communication between all departments, shipboard announcements, et.
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager.
  • Previous hotel experience preferable, a degree in hotel and restaurant management and university degree is also preferable.
  • Check-in passengers, checkout and settle accounts at end of cruise, handle complaints, lost luggage, room changes, check cashing, currency exchange, etc.
  • 4 years experience in Hotel – Practical and Administrations. Customer service experience, especially as a hotel receptionist or bank teller, is most helpful in landing this job.

Crew Purser

  • Crew purser handles the administration of the crew; sign-on and sign-off of all crew; cabin assignments for officers, staff and crew; issues cabin keys; sign-off; crew identification card; life jackets; issues master’s rules & regulations; coordinates supplies of uniforms; crew check 30 minutes prior to departure from any port; liaison officer for officers, staff and crew; keeps inventory of crew supplies; et.
  • Represent the all the company’s policies and procedures to crew- members.
  • Reports directly to the Hotel Manager.
  • Previous hotel experience required, a degree in hotel and restaurant management and university degree is also mandatory. Accounting background needed.

Assistant Purser

  • Represents cruise line policies and procedures and is a key “front line
  • contact for the passenger.
  • Provides guest services, information, exchanges travelers checks and foreign currency, posts mail, provides safety deposit box service, provides banking services for passengers, assists with resolving guest complaints and any additional duties that may be assigned by the Chief Purser.
  • High School Degree or equivalent; two(2) years front desk, hospitality desk, strong customer service skills/public relations experience or a combination of each.
  • Additional languages are required.

Guest Relations Officer

  • To assist the Guest Relations Manager in all aspects pertaining to the Guest Relations Department.
  • To provide a high profile of quality guest services.
  • Must be capable of handling all complaints and problems to the guest’s satisfaction.
  • Duties and responsibilities include sales of stamps, postcards, cookbooks and mini-menus as requested keeping accurate accounting records of sales, signing guests up for all galley tour visits, registering repeaters, VIP, and travel agent parties and forwarding all invitations to the guests, maintaining lost and found area and records, reporting any cabin change requests, solving any guest complaints or problems, making ship announcements in several languages as directed, validating guest’s ship Credit Card for all ship purchases, cashing traveler checks and currency after banking hours.
  • Previous experience as a Guest Relations Officer/Staff and/or strong Public Relations/Customer Service experience.
  • Additional languages are required for this position.
  • Must become knowledgeable of all island information to be able to answer any guest questions as well as all general information concerning the ship’s operation to be able to accommodate, answer, and recommend guest inquiries.
